Center for Cartoon Studies Scholarship

The Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, Vermont has donated a scholarship for a one week workshop on cartooning to the Department of Libraries! This scholarship is for anyone 16 or over (must be 16 years old by June 1, 2009). The workshop will take place in White River Junction July 13-17, 2009. Lodging is not included, but there is a very inexpensive hostel option at the Hotel Coolidge.

The only entry requirements are that the student is 16 years old or more, and has the ability to attend the workshop in July. Individual libraries may create criteria if they want (e.g. read a graphic novel; belong to the Graphic Novel Club at the library), but there is no need to do this. The contest will be conducted through the library (school or public) and librarians will be responsible for sending in the entry forms to the Department of Libraries by May 27, 2009. We will do a drawing here, and then let the winning student’s librarian know the results.
