OCLC First Search

 OCLC FIRSTSEARCH

The Vermont Department of Libraries (DOL) offers a license for public and school library staff to search selected OCLC FirstSearch databases at no cost to you:

WorldCat: WorldCat is the world's largest network of library content and services, including a union catalog of over 240 million bibliographic records contributed by more than 72,000 libraries worldwide, each with a list of owning library locations. Users may use a variety of search strategies, including by subject to locate books, articles, and a variety of audio-visual and electronic items.

Schools and Public Libraries: at the FirstSearch login screen, you will need to insert an authorization code and password. To obtain the URL, login authorization and password EMAIL or call (802) 828-2735.

Library staff members are not permitted to release the log-on authorization or password to the general public, students or faculty. Our license does not extend to individuals beyond library staff.

Our license includes only part of the total OCLC FirstSearch product. Certain features, such as interlibrary loan and other databases that are not highlighted are not available under the terms of our license.
