2019 Teen Lit Mob!



This spring, join us for Vermont’s only teen literary festival, Teen Lit Mob! Teen Lit Mob will celebrate teen readers, YA lit, and its fandom on Friday, April 5th, from 9am-2pm at Champlain Valley Union High School in Hinesburg, VT. Teen Lit Mob is FREE for all teens attending and lunch will be provided.

This year’s program includes: Keynote by Mackenzi Lee, author of The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice & Virtue and The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats & Piracy; Kekla Magoon, Vermont author of X: A Novel (with Ilyasah Shabazz), How It Went Down, and a contributor in recent compilations like Black Enough, edited by Ibi Zoboi; Vermont authors Amy Rose Capetta, author of The Brilliant Death, & Cori McCarthy, author of Now a Major Motion Picture, whose co-written title, Once & Future, will be out the week of TLM; Stephanie Zuppo, local cartoonist and illustrator, and editor of The Ladybroad Ledger; and Ann Dávila Cardinal, author of the upcoming novel, Five Midnights.

Here’s what you can look forward to at Teen Lit Mob:

  • Connect and geek out with other teen readers!
  • Attend author presentations & workshops throughout the day!
  • Immortalize your favorite (or soon-to-be-favorite) book(s) with author signatures!
  • Take home free books!
  • Vote for your favorite Green Mountain Book Award titles!

The goals of Teen Lit Mob are to:

  • Connect teen readers to authors and illustrators
  • Connect teen readers to each other
  • Support teen writers and illustrators
  • Celebrate diverse stories
  • Celebrate and encourage reading for pleasure
  • Promote the Green Mountain Book Award, Vermont's teen-choice book award
  • Cultivate an annual conference that celebrates YA literature in Vermont
