For State Employees

The Vermont State Library offers unique services for Vermont state government employees. To access services and resources from the Vermont State Library, you must first request a Vermont State Library card.

These cards are only available to the following groups:

  • Current Vermont State employees
  • State Legislators and support staff
  • Appointed state officials and board members

Explore the online resources available to those with Vermont State Library Cards here.

In addition to the online resources, the Vermont Department of Libraries has collections covering Vermont history, Vermont writers, and a complete historical collection of Vermont Acts & Resolves and Statutes. Further collections incudes Professional Development (created in collaboration with CAPS), and a Library Science collection. The Vermont State Library catalog can be searched here, and you can contact the Government Services Librarian to request any of the materials be sent to your office.

If the material that you want is not listed in the catalog, you can request it by filling out the Request Item form here. The Government Services Librarian will request the material via interlibrary loan and it will be sent to your office as soon as it arrives.

The Government Services Librarian is April Shaw, and she can be contacted by email at april.shaw@vermont.gov or by phone at (802) 318-7889.
