VTLIBRecordShare for Vermont Public Libraries

The Vermont Department of Libraries (VTLIB) manages the VTLIBRecordShare buying group allowing Vermont public libraries to download 250 MARC records per year for free from OCLC. These are typically high quality and complete MARC Records from a worldwide database, for those hard to find or hard to catalog items. Libraries that exceed the limit will be asked to pay $2.00 per record over 250 as a cost share. This fee is still below cost.

Enrollment is open every July, to sign up for the program please contact Lauren.Kelley@Vermont.gov

VOKAL Consortium Libraries: If you are a member of the VOKAL Consortium, you should instead contact Katie Woodard at the Pierson Library in Shelburne, about participating in the program.

OCLC has phased out their previous interface, OCLC Connexion or CatExpress, with WorldShare Metadata Services. Users of the Windows-based Connexion client can continue to use the locally installed Connexion client for their cataloging workflows.

A tutorial for downloading a record from WorldShare Metadata Services can be found here: OCLC WorldShare Metadata Services Tutorial.pdf

If you are not sure of your login information, you can contact OCLC at orders@oclc.org.
