Chilton Library for Patrons

Chilton Library helps people save money on repairs and maintenance by providing expert, step-by-step guidance, and equips them with authoritative information that’s helpful when seeking professional car care services. It’s just one of the resources available to all Vermonters through the Vermont Online Library (VOL). Chilton has recently expanded their coverage to more makes and models, including Subaru.

What Do I Need?

  • Library card from your public library, or login info from your school or college library.

How Do I Access Chilton Library?

  1. Go to https://vtonlinelib.org/
  2. Click Change Library, start typing your library's name, and then click it.
    1. If instead it says Authenticate, click that, and then choose Login with my Library Card. Start typing your library name and then click on it, enter your library card (or password if you are at a school), and then click Login. If the site won't accept your number, please reach out to your local library.
  3. Click All Resources or Resources A-Z, and Chilton Library should be the first one in the list.
  4. You don't need to create an account or login to use Chilton Library.

What Can I Do in Chilton Library?

Chilton gives access to a wide range of repair and maintenance resources. After selecting your model and year, it includes a range of detailed step-by-step instructions, including diagrams and photos. It also includes a video library of general procedures. For those interested in becoming a professional, it includes sample quizzes for ASE Technician Test Preparation.
